The Executive Board of CAW Local 2002 wishes to announce the appointment of Ross McConkey to the position of Trustee for the CLS and Air Canada GIDIP program in the Pacific Region.  Ross is an agent at Vancouver Aeroplan and has experience serving members as a Vice-Chairperson at the YVR Aeroplan office.

GIDIP Trustees hold the legal title to the trust property on behalf of CAW members.  Trustees are required to attend quarterly meetings that take place in Toronto at the Plan Administrator’s office.  At GIDIP Trustee meetings the management of the Fund is reviewed and member’s concerns regarding their insurance claims are addressed.

As a Trustee Ross’ new duties will include monitoring the development of the GIDIP program; negotiating with the insurance underwriter with respect to benefit coverage and benefit improvements; conducting an annual renewal of the GIDIP plan including premium rates, underwriting revisions and debatable claim situations; and generally monitoring the overall effectiveness of the GIDIP program.

Ross’ duties will commence on December 1, 2007 and conclude June 30, 2009.
